Customisation database search not working ?

Post by Piscator » Thu Sep 24, 2015 12:38 pm

using the search feature just doesnt seem to work at all ?

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/

search returns:
Sorry, search could not be performed. More information about this failure has been logged in the error log.
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/find ... c[]=0&sc=1

just to be sure i tried many different extension names that do exist even tried *keyword* but still no joy.

not a major issue for me but just thought id mention it.

Use the normal search in the header. Try searching "NavBar Search" without the quotes and see what you get. Presumably, as it's reporting "been logged in the error log", someone knows about it. You could contact one of the website team and explain to them if you wish.

that works fine for forums and can find extensions that way, my work around though was using google to only search the db.

Code: Select all

keyword site:phpbb.com/customise/db
thought putting it here would be good enough rather than contacting someone 8-)

I don't think the "site" search works that way. I am not sure you can put anything other than the actual domain name in for that type of search.

could be wrong, but I never heard of being able to put in a path to a directory on the site.
even if that would work, it will not work in this situation. the db directory does not have any files in it that google could search to begin with. you can't search any phpbb directory for keywords because there are no html files in them. only php files that call the database and create html files on the fly.

For now what you can do is:
when searching, only select the extension/MODs or styles forums to find the customisation that you are looking for.

Use this for now:
search.php

In the "Search in forums:", select the extension/MODs or styles forums to find what you are looking for.
If what you are looking for is already released in the DB, you can reach it's DB page from the BOT's release post.

Thanks
