The coincidence has been mentioned earlier in this topic. Even its title contained 3.0.7-PL1 at first. ;)
3.0 has reached it's End-of-Life already, so it will not receive any updates anymore.
posey wrote:Out of curiousity (as I - and I think a lot of other people - use the Event_List) has this been updated with 3.1.7-PL1 events?

I found a few 3.1.7-RC1 events, but none with the PL1 tag.
Do you want me to add them, or you guys want to do that yourself?
There have been no events added after 3.1.7-RC1, 3.1.7 only contained changes that update the version, 3.1.7-pl1 only contains changes that update the version, the security fix and a one line change to fix a missing variable.

I replied to the statement about coincidence meaning that 3.0.7-PL1 was not the only PL release before 3.1.7-PL1.
3.0.13-PL1 still exists as a release.

Applied the patch on my testbed and can confirm that it solves the problem. I haven't done any testing for side effects or other impacts.

It'd have been great to add support for PHP 7. I can't even install it on my new server :/

This will happen with phpBB 3.2 (the alpha2 is already supporting PHP 7.0). But I think it is excluded, that they will bring PHP 7.0 support to phpBB 3.1. There are some technical reasons, which will make this impossible with an arguable effort.

Is there a topic about it? I'd like to read that.

The fix works for me. I have posted my information in the bug tracker: PHPBB3-14407 Users not being removed from Newly Registered Users group

The installation was a success in my forum.

But the installation was through my cpanel (automatic installation) with the help "softaculous"
Installation was with one click.

PS: I am staying at banahosting :)

Sorry, by the Spam
But,
I mention it because surely other hosting also have the option to update the Scrip with one click. Check with your hosting provider if they have that option.

Just one problem with softaculous and similar one-click installation software: They are not fully supported here.

It will make it difficult to receive help since you are not using the files from phpbb.com

Think I discovered an issue. I have two boards I updated in my test server using Xampp. When you click Permanently delete the post, the post looks soft deleted. It isn't Permanently deleted.

Can anyone else confirm?

Edit- Possible another issue. I have the setting that new users with one post need to be approved. Well, the new user makes a post, is approved so the user should be moved from newly registered to registered. The second and following posts still need to be approved. This isn't right.

Both updated boards exhibit those two problems. My 3.1.6 board does not.
