I tried to update from 3.1.9 to 3.2.0 rc1.

I get the following error

The installer detected a timeout
The installer has detected a timeout, you may try to refresh the page, which may lead to data corruption. We suggest that you either increase your timeout settings or try to use the CLI.

how do i use the CLI? There is no option to use it ?!?!?

There is no way to change the timeout settings nor change the ftp settings. Even not when i delete the install map and upload it again. It seems to save the settings somewhere and i can't change it.

When i click on Convert i get the message Unable to access the convertors directory

No i'd rather had the old installation.......

edit i'll post this in the right forum.

Probably a really dumb question, but where do I put the unzipped file?

File or files? Which one(s) are you talking about? If you need help installing/upgrading you should post in the 3.2 support forum.

You shouldn't be stuck with no board because it's quite clear this is not ready to be used live yet as it's only an RC release. You should start a support topic detailing what you have and what you've done.

Installation or update?

And you say when you click the convert button.
There isn't one.
There's a tab but that's for going from 2.0.x, you should be updating.

Feels solid and ready. No problems with a live test.

Hello

I'm getting a new forum on a new field and I was wondering if I can install phpBB 3.2 RC1 on this day when I expect the official release

It's not recommended to install phpBB 3.2-RC1 on a live board right now. It is still in a test stage (RC means release candidate) and there are some known bugs that would prevent you from properly using all the functions that phpBB has to offer. You'd be better off waiting for an official release to come or just use our stable 3.1.x product for your new board, which we still completely support and will for some time. :)

If your question was when exactly the stable version of 3.2.0 will be released, we can't answer that unfortunately. You'll have to be patient, I'm afraid. But I can assure you we're working hard at it.
