You're right that syntax highlighting by default has been removed from the core phpBB package in 3.2, as the Features page you linked to states. The reason it was removed was because we are now using a revamped BBCode parser. However, it's still easy to implement again using this extension
Okay, but will new versions of phpbb officially support syntax highlighting?
And if so, will phpbb use it highlight.js definitely or another method is envisaged?
What is the relationship with revamped BBCode parser?
Sorry to insist, but I am dealing with a forum on which one regularly uses the syntax highlighting for code examples (And I am convinced that I am not the only one).
The extension currently used is CodeBox Plus, which had the advantage of using GesHi (syntax highlighting + keyword link to online help for the type of code we used)
Unfortunately the development of CodeBox Plus is dropped and this extension is most likely incompatible with phpBB 3.2
I'm looking for something that will allow me to continue using syntax highlighting without having to ask myself the question "will it be compatible with the next version of phpBB"
As on the features page it is written that phpBB support syntax highlighting, I had hoped for a more official response or details about that.
