To give a positive feedback:
My biggest board just made the jump from 3.1 to 3.2
After adapting my style and some extensions, it was a smooth upgrade. Happy to have it finally running with PHP 7 😊
Thanks to everyone who had contributed to this release, again a big step forward!
are you aware that it says "powered by vbulletin" in the tab? :?

EDIT: This may actually be a google translate problem though :?

Strange!
I guess this is something with your browser (cache?). This forum is running since its beginning with phpBB, more then 10 years already.
Have you tried a different browser?

It's definately Chrome's builtin Google translate that's doing that. Didn't happen if I used Google translate page directly.

not sure but I doubt you would want to try and upgrade that way. it is a pretty major rewrite. probably thousands of lines of code to change/edit/add etc.

Can you please tell me which Chrome version and translator plugin you are exactly using?
Some investigation could be interesting, if it can be handled differently.

It's Chrome [Version 55.0.0.2883.87 m (64-bit)]. When I go that that page it a popup asks me if I want it translated. I assume because it's in German and my locale is English.

Yes, I think so too. In the meantime I've installed Chrome, including the translation feature.
No problem with translating phpbb.com or other English phpBB 3.2 boards to German. The tab headline is fine.
I cannot change Chrome to use English as default language. Therefore I cannot reproduce it on my board.
Trying other way round - changing my board language to English and let Chrome translate: everything fine.

For whatever reason it is this thats causing an issue in translate

Code: Select all

<title>Harmony-Remote-Forum.de - Foren-Übersicht</title>
putting this in google translate comes out as Forums - Powered by vBulletin

Code: Select all

- Foren-Übersicht
Removing the

Code: Select all

-
results in google translate coming up with board index

Its clearly a google translate problem! either that or VB are paying them

I'm also using Chrome (v 56 beta, 64-bit) on Windows 10 and cannot reproduce this behavior. I also plugged the phrase into Google translate and got

Code: Select all

<Title> Harmony-Remote-Forum.de - Board index </ title>
Many times Google remembers your previous history, which influences the results you see. Have you tried repeating the test in private browsing mode or with another browser?

I actually via the google translate page, suggested a new translation. I'm not sure if that propagates out to others but if it does, that maybe the reason it's fixed for you. I assume some German whose a fan of VB, suggested this translation as as joke at one point and it just hasn't been caught till now.

I just think its an issue with translate as if you translate

Code: Select all

- Foren-Übersicht
you get the Vbullettin

But translate

Code: Select all

Foren-Übersicht
and you get bored index
