What are the average developer rates?

Post by dynserver »

Greetings,

Wanted to get some insight from people who have had any paid work done phpbb related. Could somebody break down what an average developer charges? What are the usually going rates for an extension

I'm sure there are numerous factors that contribute to this.. so I would like to say just a GENERAL idea of an extension price to be expected. In other words, extensions that arn't way too complex.. but just in between.

Hopefully this makes sense. I'm trying to refrain from breaking TOS here.. google didnt help.. I figured the people of phpbb would probably suffice.

I would think it is based off a per hour rate or if the extension is small enough, maybe a flat fee.

Could you elaborate a little on what the average "per hour" rate would be? or maybe the differences between a small extensions as opposed to a larger one?

Hourly rates vary depending on several factors. I, personally, would think $30, or so, per hour and as far as complexity, the extension can be as complex as this one or as simple as this one.

It's a pretty open ended question to which there is no right nor wrong answer. After all, developer experience and code quality rank above all. Right?

Hmm I see, yeah I guess it's totally based on the circumstances. so there's no right or wrong answer here. But I get the general feel of it. Mk

Well, if that's the way to go, then the rate there will not exceed $ 10 an hour, it's easier to work in McDonald's.
