tapatalk- do I need it and why is it so hard to install?

OK, good for you.

I develop in all three areas, desktop, net and mobile. So, although I'm not from the XYZ generation breathing through my phone, I'm rather a heavy user for professional reasons. Both phone and tablet.

It seems like a generational problem, as I can see.

Still, I hardly miss push notification features in my phpBB board. And I have the sensation that the phpBB does not feel this need, for generational reasons (used to the old way of using the internet).

I'm not saying that because I'm a youngster of the Facebook generation: 1976, here.
I'm saying that for practical reasons. Sometimes a community needs both the complexity and flexibility of phpBB like the good old forum times and the fast delivery of notifications of the newer social network times.

Just my 2 cents.

Yes, but most people now are not like you and me anymore...

About this and after updating my forum from 3.0.14 to 3.2.3 and because I had tapatalk disable for a while, they sent many emails asking what they could do to help me install tapatalk again and then I asked them why Tapatalk is not validated by phpBB and they answer this...

It's far easier and safer to create a desktop icon on a phone or pad for whatever sites you use.

They tried once. It was full of security vulnerabilities. These were pointed out and they ignored that and didn't submit again. Since then they've had many more, including one where all users where GLOBAL moderators at sign up.
