Post by phpbbX »

Is there a mailing list for new phpBB board releases (updates and upgrades)? How to subscribe? Thanks.

There is no mailing list but you can subscribe to the Announcements forum where all new releases are announced.

Thanks? Ho to do it? I do not see how to subscribe at "Board index - General - Announcements"
viewforum.php?f=14

On the other hand, how many messages per month/year are sent by such subscription, excluding phpBB board releases (updates and upgrades)?

I will subscribe if the latter are not many.

Click on "Subscribe forum" on the bottom navigation bar.

In total in that last 12 months there have been 10 announcements in total.

Thanks, but I do not see any subscribe on navigation bar. Searching for subscribe does not find any hit.

Thanks, but amazingly I do no see that. I see this:

Board index - Contact us - The team - Members . Delete all board cookies - All times are UTC+12:00

I do not see the "FORUM PERMISSIONS" section on your post screen-capture (above) either!

Maybe I do not have "enough" postsfor it? I have 75 posts right now.

you have to be actually viewing a forum page, not the index page.
look at the bottom of that page.

I still do not see it. In such a link, that goes to Announcements, I see:

Return to Board Index - Jump to
WHO IS ONLINE
Users browsing this forum: ...
Board index - Contact us - The team - Members . Delete all board cookies - All times are UTC+12:00
ADVERTISEMENTS

Which is EXACTLY the same that I see in this thread as well.

Thanks for all answers. Believe it or not, "Subscribe forum" did not show before, but shows now! Weird. But now, clicking my username and "User Control Panel - Overview - Manage subscriptions", shows:

------------------------------
Below is a list of forums and topics you are subscribed to. You will be notified of new posts in either. To unsubscribe mark the forum or topic and then press the Unwatch marked button.
WATCHED FORUMS
: You are not subscribed to any forums.
WATCHED TOPICS
: You are not subscribed to any topics.

------------------------------

Weird, weird, weird! Oops! UPDATE: I have seen that the TICKED "Subscribe forum" means that I am NOT subscribed. Clicking it removes such tick and shows unticked "Unsubscribe forum". Then "User Control Panel - Overview - Manage subscriptions" shows such thread as subscribed. Sorry about such confusion on my side, yet such interface (tick on "Subscribe forum") seems anti-intuitive to me and actually fooled me. It is my suggestion to change the TICKED "Subscribe forum" by an UNTICKED one to mean that subscription is NOT active. That is a suggestion for the admins here.

Besides that, can I change the e-mail address to receive subscription notifications? Configuring my profile in this site? How? Configuring my profile in my own phpBB board site (I am the Admin)? How? Thanks.

I agree that having the check mark there is confusing and should be changed. as for changing the email address, since this has nothing to do with your board you would need to change the email address you have in your profile here at phpbb.com.

luck,
