Update from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 was done without problems (PHP 7.1.19)
So far everything looks good.
My 2 cents: Whether an extension is in the CDB says nothing about its quality. It is more important to read the support topics for it. Better to avoid authors who do not answer support questions themselves, who do not update their stuff, and who do not fix bugs for years.

I created a domain and moved my current install to it in preparation for an update test. Since I use the manual update, and that I have core file changes I'll have to look over all of my notes and make sure I reapply everything. Pretty big PITA to do. Not sure when I'll tackle this though. Not felling up to it at the moment. But I'm waiting for any unhappy campers to be sure no one else finds something that needs rectified like with the last update. Glad I waited back then when 3.2.2 came out in January.

Where can we find out when the next release comes out or any release for that matter? Is that not Info. not posted?

Did you ever try a text comparison tool like winmerge to check the differences between different source folders, eg. you modified board and a clean install package?

Easy answer, don't modify core code.

There has never been an ETA on releases here and there never will be since everyone is volunteering their time to add and update code, making release predictions impossible.

But you can keep track of the progress right here: https://github.com/phpbb/phpbb/milestones/3.2.4

I've used Winmerge before, but in this case I don't have to since I have notes.

Winmerge for some reason doesn't work right for me any more so I use Diffmerge.

Almost every release since 3.1 has occurred when I am away - and no I will not tell anyone when I am next on holiday!!!
It actually was kind of vacation for us as well. We were just working hard during it. ;)

That advice is too late for many of us who started modifying core over a decade ago. :|

Not sure how you have been doing it for over 10 years when phpBB 3.1/3.2 has only been out for four years

Many core changes could be transferred into 3.1 from earlier versions. Duh.
