Would you be able to post up instructions so I could request it from an admin?
The owner of a site is unlikely to do a lot of complex editing because one user has asked them to add something.

So it's a existing specific log I'd like to erase, not all logs going forward, can any admin do this in the ACP?
As I said before, what's the bigger picture here?

Are you actually asking if you can contact the admin of a site that you use to ask them to delete the record of an email address change because you don't want them to see the old email address you used?

If so, 99.99% of admins won't have even noticed that you've changed it. Telling them about it will make them go and look and then they really will see it!

Execute query in phpmyadmin or similar tool.
Change phpbb_ table prefix to yours if different.

DELETE FROM `phpbb_log` WHERE `log_operation` LIKE 'LOG_USER_UPDATE_EMAIL' AND `log_data` LIKE '%MacbethRepents%';

The above will delete only those logs where you changed your email and related data.

I was more concerned about hackers etc. but you're right, it's a bit silly when you put it like that.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

How would a "user" run a sql query via phpMyAdmin?

MacbethRepents can't do it as a user, but can ask the admin to do it (under the assumption the admin has phpMy Admin access).

Your old and new email addresses would already be all over the internet anyway. So if a hacker got in and delved deep enough to find your one account that had an email change, what are they gaining? They probably already know it.

My dear old mum only emails me and my brother and gets online shopping. She gets spam mail. They know eveyone's address. And if they don't they just fire off dictionary words or sets of numbers. It's not a 'private' piece of information to know an email address.

Yeah, you're right, I know all I need to know if you want to lock this or anything.

Edit: But thanks for the help, everyone. It was just a mild curiosity / concern and you put my mind at ease.
