Thanks for this. Can someone please refresh my memory as to where the list of changed files is? I vaguely recall it's on GitHub somewhere.

3.2.8 to 3.2.9/ see Added: below

All versions can be found via the downloads page.
Look for ABOUT PHPBB (near the bottom) and then Older Releases.

Added:

Actually just found out that the first link I posted in this post only contains the docs, install and vendor folder.

The package with all the changed files is included in the phpBB-3.2.9-files.zip (which contains phpBB-3.2.8_to_3.2.9.zip which does have all the changed files).
This is a bit confusing and I suspect that the first link I posted is for the autopdate. (it's a suspicion, don't take my word for it).
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Using my localhost testbed (CentOS 7.x with PHP 7.2.x), I've tested the update following the procedure in Knowledge Base - Updating 3.2.x. As expected the update when smoothly and sanity testing looks good so far.

Thanks team 👍👍

The fixes for the configuration of Sphinx search are made to the sphinx.conf configuration file generated by the ACP and the sample file shipped in the docs folder. While in operation, this file actually resides outside of phpBB. So, for those who have already configured Sphinx as the search backend, you will need to apply the configuration changes manually to your existing sphinx.conf file (by checking against the new configuration file supplied with phpBB 3.2.9). The changes will then take effect upon the next full indexation of your main search index (whenever you have indexer.exe scheduled to run, usually daily).

My plan is updating to 3.2.9 first.

There is lots of underlying infrastructure changes in 3.3.0, which I already know causes a problem with a least one extension (Individual posts per page) in use on my boards.

Generally I tend to live on the bleeding edge and would like to move to phpBB 3.3.0 so that I can move to PHP 7.3 and gain some improved performance. At this point I'm doing lots of testing and awaiting updates and/or sign-offs from the extension developers that they're compatible with phpBB 3.3.x.

My $0.02.

Once again thanks to all involved in this release.

Updated boards tonight with no issue using the procedure in Knowledge Base - Updating 3.2.x. 👍👍

It's about time phpBB added a little "donation" button in the top corner of the screen or something,

I'm currently doing a style on a platform that has a topic for donations... $90 / $120 / $150 - personally I prefer the "donate what you want" idea as asking for a donation and then demanding how much the person donates doesn't sit right with me for sure, but the method mentioned works well for that platform and the default style isn't even responsive!
phpBB updates more regularly than said platform and has fewer options for people to show their appreciation, sure VigLink is cool but some people don't want an extension tracking the links on their forum - especially those running "site le saucy" but they would be happy to whack a number into a donate box and send it.

I'd be more than happy to donate 10% or 20% of money I make on each phpBB style, simply because without phpBB there would be no style to sell, plus for style authors - adding a little "proud supporter of phpBB" on their marketplace profile would tick a few boxes too.

Just my 3 dollars like.
