[split from] DISCUSSION: Slow forum

Post by WWu777 »

A few questions:

If I move to shared hosting, one of the pro or premium plans, how much traffic can a phpbb3 forum on shared hosting hold? How many users can be on at once if phpbb3 is on a shared hosting plan? Including a premium shared hosting plan? Any idea?

Also, does the mention extension still slow down a forum? Or is that no longer true?

This all depends on the specs of the shared plan.

What about the pro shared hosting plan on Bluehost for example?

For more "specs" you'll need to ask Bluehost itself.
We should embrace problems, without which there wouldn't be any solutions.
