does this value not affect my random disconnection?
Not by design, no. The default of phpBB is actually much shorter for "Session length" (3600 seconds) and is how many boards are running.
Yes, unless you used "Remember me" during your login, when the session time limit expires, your existing logged-on session will no longer be valid and/or will have been deleted, and you will need to login again. But that's not "random disconnection", and if you used "Remember me" you shouldn't see it at all.
"Random" can be "my ISP is changing my IP address on me", such that phpBB doesn't believe you're the original user of the session. Perhaps this is not unlikely, since you appear to be using a mobile device in these screen shots, and mobile ISPs can have more reason to change IP addresses. Other causes of this have been when there is a proxy between you and the phpBB server; and it's the proxy IP address that phpBB sees which is changing, rather than your IP address.
While you are successfully logged in, check the "Who Is Online" display while logged on as administrator, and see what IP address phpBB knows you are connecting from. If a "random disconnection" then happens, after you get logged back in, check the "Who Is Online" display again and see if the IP address is any different. You would thereby confirm or rule out whether the IP address changing may be a factor.
