With PHP 8.0.1 Password is no longer accepted after logout and relogin.
I tried to reset the pw with "passwort forgotten" link, but this don´t work too (old and new pw are not accepted).

I switched back to PHP 7.4.3 and everything is fine.
Update before from 3.3.2 to 3.3.3 with auto update.

As I would have expected it was a simple and clean update on my testbed machine following https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... date_full/.

Planning underway on when to update my production boards. At this point I'm planning to stay running on PHP 7.4.
Production boards now updated and running smoothly. Again, thanks team.

I've started testing on another testbed machine using PHP 8. The specifics are: So far so good, nothing unusually or abnormal detected. Again, thanks team 👍👍

The latest version of Ubuntu 20.04 LTS only has PHP 7.3 on a clean install with MySQL 5.7

After some updates MySQL 8 is available but PHP 7.4 is all that is available last time I looked

I guess PHP8 is being tested before is out for the LTS users

I recently upgraded from 3.0.12 (I think) to 3.3.3.

I am a tinkerer and no pro when it comes to phpBB.

I found the instructions absolutely spot on: https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... upgrade31/

I was done and dusted within 3 hours, and that included me downloading FileZilla and learning how to copy the files across to my site, as I had never needed to do this before - my site was an "out of the box" install done when I purchased the domain and hosting package 3 years ago. I had never otherwise needed to touch anything about the site.

Very impressed with how simple it was to update.

If you thought your board was 3.0.x you should have followed the instructions in Upgrading from 3.0 to 3.3?

I actually don't know if the migrations from 3.0.12 > 3.1 were done (I think yes, but I'm not sure)

Shouldn't be any reason why they would have been skipped. Migrations will run if they haven't been run before and they will (normally) run in the correct order.

Yeah, I thought so. A couple of years ago I used to edit the version field in the config table (and removed references to migrations run) to force a re-update and someone pointed out that that was superfluous.
