Running phpBB on Android

I run a fully operational website and I am considering adding a simple forum.
Before I commit to doing that I want to experiment with phpBB at home on my Android to gain confidence in the facilities.
Is it possible to load phpBB software on my Android and experiment with formatting etc independent of any formal hosting service?

I don't know what is available for android but you can install on local PC/MAC using XAMPP.

A quick search for personal Webserver on Android.
Be aware that (for ease of use) you'll need a bit of "viewing" space. Portability is not a criterium to be neglected in this case and I'ld consider a 10" screen an absolute minimum.

You don’t mention Android what, phone tablet etc? The tech republic article, above, looks fairly comprehensive and I see there’s an HTTP Server on playstore. Make sure whichever way you jump that whatever you use must meet the phpBB requirements.

You could run a local web server on your PC, then access that from your phone using the IP address of your PC.

Obviously they would need to be connected to the same network.
