Local Side Forum Restore

Post by sophian »

Hello,

I've recently wanted to create a local side version of our non-profit forum on my laptop using XAMPP software. I followed the instructions given at this link that was on this forum: https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... eb-server/

Everything seemed to be on track. But when I re-installed a new version of phpbb and tried to restore a back up of our forum I got this SQL error:

SQL ERROR
Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet bytes {1153}

Any ideas of what I need to do to get things restored correctly?

Thanks,
Christopher

Your database is too big, see the above link.
@ The Chief Medical Officers guideline for men is that: You are safest not to drink regularly more than 14 units per week.
- I drank that today++ :lol: 🍺

Thank you Steve,

So..... Will I need to use the MySqldump script / app that you sent me.... or do I need to change the MySQL configuration file and increasing max_allowed_packet value?

I'm very new to all this and have very little experience with MySql databases....

Thanks for any clarification..
