I have a clean install running on a friend's forum: http://www.xxxxx

I'm wondering if there's really a custom bbcode MOD, or if we have to wait for the RC. Or maybe it was never to be added in the first place?

W00t! Thanks! I've managed to make center tags to center the text. I suppose I'll have to make it also work for images and other things.

The first thing that hit me was "Jake, it's template time".

The new ACP reminded me of IPB somewhat.

I hope the template that will come with the non-beta version owns.

I've got a few MODs in my current phpBB installation that I hope to get transferred once I upgrade, including one as simply as random quotes that display on the index. =d

Anyways, I loved the viewprofile page, and I like that post details option in viewtopic and the preview page of postreply. Many other things I'm marvelling at, too.

I haven't been to the area51 dev board for a long time, so I'm curious as to see how far 3.0 has progressed since my last visit.
Although, my chance to play with it will have to wait for another few days :(

But when you've been waiting this long - another few days mean bugger all :D

Yeah, MODs let us make this great software even better.

I really think Olympus could've used 'topic title on index' as well as topic description along with the subject. :(

Other than that, I'm happy with how it turned out and can't wait for the RC to come out - hopefully with at least 'show topic title on index' MOD not far behind. I can live without topic descriptions. :)

I'm really loving it. I played with most versions of 2.2.x and this is just grand. I only installed it a few mins ago :P.

I've just finished a relatively painless install, and am quite impressed with the guided install. A few comments:

[-] It would be good to say exactly what number (755, 664, or whatnot) is needed to make the docs, etc., files writeable. I finally had to set them to 777, which I don't think is exactly correct.

[-] While I can read the font just fine, one or two pixels bigger would be much nicer.

[+] I really love the new look of the admin panel. The frames in phpBB2 were extremely annoying.

[-] In the forum creation panel, the line under "Forum Description" that reads, "Any markup entered here will displayed as is" is a little confusing, especially when there are the checkboxes underneath saying "Parse BBcode" and so on. And what difference is there between "parse links" and "parse BBcode"? Doesn't BBcode have the [url] tag?

More to come.... and should these be in another forum?

It would be nice if you would post such things to the bug tracker - else we are not able to consider them. ;)

I agree - I absolutely hate frames. I wrote a little mod to redraw it with tables, but it really screwed up on non subsilver based templates. Still, it did the job.
