I think the way the admin approval for new members works needs to be tweaked.

Ideally, a user would register on the forum and would be required to verify their email address, once it was verified the admin would be required to approve their account request.

For phpBB 3, remember to change the Admin login from 'administer' to 'administrate'. Administer is giving something away in a planned fashion, such as 'The doctor administered his patient the pills.', whereas Adminstrate is the word you're looking for in that context.

I just installed it. I am pretty experienced user with phpBB and many other forums. This was a super easy install. I really love all the new controls in the control panel. This is SOOOOOOO much better then phpBB2. I can't wait until it is released. :)

Thank you guys! You do a great job!

Please, when you nitpick, at least get your facts straight.

Congratulations on a job well done! I can't wait for phpBB3 to go gold, I've had to resort to using SMF for some websites I've developed in order to incorporate greater control, and the changes in phpBB3 are refreshing and very welcomed. Now I'll have the same control as SMF, without the gawdy threaded msg inbox's that SMF has.

Most end users really like the ability to have an inbox, outbox and a saved box, and see the subject w/o the whole message, unlike SMF's product. I just can't wait for phpBB3 to be finished.

<anxiously sits on the edge of his seat>
To each their own.

Since I first tried the Olympus CVS well over a year ago, I forgot what my first impressions were.

Come on man are you telling me that this has been in development for over a year?

At that rate we'll never see an RC.

Beta3 about to be released and some talk about beta4.

I'm not a young man and would like to use this on my site before I pass away.

No really I like what I see it looks great guys even if I never get to use it.

Maybe when my son takes over my site after I'm gone he will get to use it. LOL
