this is an amazing piece of software.

I have it live on a tiny site I use (everyone knows its beta and we may loose everything but all is good).

If anyone finds bugs anywhere they will be leting me know so I can let you know. Amazing, just amazing...

Huh, interesting. I didn't think the 2.0.x theme looked all that bad. I use a slightly modified version of it on my site and have found it a good happy medium between a raw professional look and a more relaxed community feel. But I'm getting off topic, so I'll stop there. ;)

So far like it very much. Every MOD I've installed on 2.0.21 in the last month are standard features now. Got a test site setup on a local machine and one online for the modertors to road test. Can't wait till it goes Gold. And to think something this nice is free. :D

It looks the same as bb2 to me. Too bad it doesnt have the stuff going down the sides like phpnuke. Well done everyone, adding all the mods we all like, especially the subforums...awesome.

How hard would it be to convert a DB from BB2 over to BB3?

If you have to ask, hard ;) Doing it manually is not supported (that doesn't mean you may not try, but if you get into trouble, you're on your own). Until the official conversion tool is released.

Just wait until the first release candidate like everyone else not up to the job of tracking development versions. There will be a time you can upgrade through a nice, slick graphical tool, and it will be fully supported. Just not now, basically to protect you from yourself ;)

If you are decent at php/mysql it is pretty easy. Otherwise you have no chance at it yourself.

Though me and a few friends already made a non-official upgrader. My 2 board is already on 3. :P

I struggled so much to get google to search my site.
Will it be easier now for google to index the forum with this version 3?
Or will we have to MOD that again?

I am installing this new version tonight. I can't wait to see what it looks like.
thanks

3.0 has specific support for search bots, I think one of the essential points there is that the bots will not be given a session ID in their URLs, which should greatly enhance the indexing of the board.

alright folks,
First impression? I don't want to go back to phpbb2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't want to !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't let me go back !!!!!!!.

This is some neat work!!!!
Job well done. I loooooooove the ACP.
So much easier to use. Now let me cruise around.
I heard you disabled html. I hate the idea. But I know some MOD will enable it for some of us who can't live without it. So no big deal. Patience is the key word for that feature to come back.

Thank you guys.. Great job.
Can't wait for the MOD gurus to get in the game.

Great JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent work.

There's no more html because the BBCode system is now much more powerful and you can do whatever you can with HTML, but in a more controlled fashion. I personally wouldn't hack HTML support back in.
