Prosilver style: first impressions

I quite like it. What I don't like is the nicknames/avatars on the right... it does look different and is very characteristic, but it's more difficult to see who has posted what. Especially on very short messages, you have to look to the other side of the screen, whereas with the info on the left it's only a couple of centimetres from the first word of the post. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it doesn't seem to make sense to me.

DragonlordP, I agree, the avatar location is the only thing I don't care for thus far. Other than that I really love it.

Yeah, and the nicknames use too small fonts... but I guess these are all details that will be fixed until the style is ready for download. The right position though is quite a big difference, so I guess that will stay...

I think it looks brilliant except for 2 things

1) I think the announcement and sticky icons could stand out more

and

2) An explanation of the different icons isn't displayed at the bottom of the page

Other than those I think the site looks brilliant and I was one of the many refreshing the page after the countdown finished even though I was trying to watch 24 at the same time!

yeh good point, the username font is way too small. But these are all minor things that I expect will be ironed out over the coming weeks

Anyway, I'd like to hear the thoughts that lead to the decision of the user info on the right... It really doesn't make any sense to me, seems like struggling to be different when there is no such need, but I'd really like to hear the reasons that lead to this decision, I'm sure there's something I can't think of.

I am glad somebody started this topic because I have been holding off about saying something, but since this topic is here, here goes...

I don't like it at all. Plain and simple. we all have our likes and dislikes. I don't like the tables layout. I don't like the folder images and I especially don't like the user avatar and info on the right. I don't like the way each reply is seperated.

I also don't like the smilies being on the right hand side of the reply text area and the new topic text area. Also the blue and pink make it look like a girls forum.

I sure hope that this is not the default style that will be released with RC1.

This will be the default style when Olympus goes gold (or at least a form of this, some fixes etc will be done before then).

Another thing that's starting to bug me is that the "view latest unread post" is after the "by TheJediSlayer on Sun Mar 18, 2007 10:11 pm" line. It was much more practical on the left of the topic subject, because you were moving the cursor over the topics and it was just a few pixels away if you wanted it... now you have to move the cursor to the right a bit. Still, no biggie, it just seems like the position in subsilver was more practical and well-thought of.

No, just saw it... makes things better, but still can't see how this is supposed to be an improvement over the info being on the left...

I think it's to keep the focus on the post and not their avatar.

Personally seeing the following in a huge font after every post is really starting to annoy me:

Well if this is the case I guess I will have to create my own theme because I will not use this style on my board.
