We request you retain the full copyright notice below including the link to http://www.phpbb.com.
This not only gives respect to the large amount of time given freely by the developers
but also helps build interest, traffic and use of phpBB3. If you (honestly) cannot retain
the full copyright we ask you at least leave in place the "Powered by phpBB" line, with
"phpBB" linked to http://www.phpbb.com. If you refuse to include even this then support on our
forums may be affected.
Code: Select all
echo "Copyright 2000-" . date('Y') . " phpBB group";

2000 - phpBB1.0.0 released
2002 - phpBB2.0.0 released & phpBB2.2.x commenced
2005 - phpBB2.2.x is canned with phpBB3.0.0 to succeed it, prosilver also starts development proper
2007 - phpBB3.0.x...
Anyone that so much as whimpers "OMG copyright year is wrong!!!1~"... read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright
Considering copyright (from the year started) last for at least 50 years, and up to 70 years after the author's _death_, even phpBB1.x.x will remain copyrighted well into the 22nd century.

I think it looks more esthetic.
That is true... and it does look polished in quite a few ways. ^_~skorpiius wrote:I think when threads are started dealing with the minutia of looking for ways to write the years in the copyright notice in a different format, it's a good sign that PHPBB is a pretty darn polished product
