+1 on that, is there any place to find out (like a trac page) so we know when we can see the 3.0 final being released.

It looks nice but there isn't really much of a difference except that its a little bit more organized and theme setting is different. The permissions are quite confusing and gives me a headach trying to figure it out. phpBB 2 has better and simple way of dealing with permissions which didn't took much at all.

I absolutely LOVE the new release!! And so do my members!! Good Job!! Thank you!!

I decided to continue using subsilver for I prefer the layout much more. The ACP is very detailed with much to learn...but Love that too..soooo many more options!! Love the color table as well, but wouldn't mind font options . :P

Thank you sooo much!!!! :) :) :)

I just installed RC3 from RC1 which was also very good. I decided to view the source code in my html editor for the forum home page using subsliver2 & it is very impressive to see such a clean & simple code compared to the huge chunks of code from old versions. There is many great backend improvements but the best one for me is the inclusion of subcategories as part of the default install.

Yes, the permissions control panels also kicked my ass. It could use some minor adjustments there, but other than that it's great.

The permissions are actually quite intuitive in my opinion...

When I first installed the V3 I deleted it as soon as I saw the ACP because I simply do not need that much more additional detail to have to pay attention to in my life at this point for a forum.
But curiousity got the better of me so I installed it again and played around with it some. Actually, I find that its not any more confusing overall because everything is pretty much where it should be from what Ive seen so far.
If Im trying to set permissions for forums and what guests can see there, I found it the first time without any document reading or anything.
I have to admit my first impression wasnt the best, but that second glance was well worth it because now I wouldnt want it any less detailed at all.

I have at leat 300 daily active users on my forum and a big lot of them complained after the upgrade about the complexity and about the user details on the right side of the post :)
Today most of them like the new forum very much, and when I dhow them the old one laugh!

The only thing I don't understand is why the link are not opening in the new window as before.
