Does that mean I'd have to install itunes? Or just download it from the itunes site? (getting a bit confused with the links)

podcast.phpbb.com is running on a different server to http://www.phpbb.com, and that server had a hardware failure a few days ago. Downloads will eventually be served from a server that is not iTunes, but I don't think it is back to that point yet.

Until we get the other server up and running, downloads will have to be served from iTunes.
This should not be a big deal, I download podcasts from iTunes all the time, it is really fast taking only a few seconds and is like every other download in that it is dependent on your connection speed.

You’ll need to have iTunes installed to download the podcast, yes.

For those of you who don't want to have to use iTunes, you can download the MP3's directly from here:

Episode 1: http://phpbb.adamreyher.com/podcast/episode1_final.mp3 (32.0MB)
Episode 2: http://phpbb.adamreyher.com/podcast/episode2_final.mp3 (40.3MB)

Use iTunes if you can. I don't want to kill my bandwidth. :D

We're still working on the server. Hardware failure isn't fun...

Agreed on the alternative download options. iTunes is blocked for me at work also.

Thx

Hi :)
To evade iTunes block, there are two mirrors listed right before your post ;)

Techie-Micheal has restored the podcast site on phpBB.com, episodes are back up, but comments are lost due to the database crash.

http://podcast.phpbb.com/

Lets hear it for :D

Please use the tags, this feature was added natively since the 2.3 (WordPress version) and it is very useful :D!

Thanks for the restoration ;) .

I like the discussion on having too many forums. It is something I tell people quite frequently who ask for help with their forum.

I hope there will be more discussion on administrating forums in the future. It is just as important as the technical aspects in my opinion.

I agree this was an excellent pod cast. I didn't get to finish it all but I still love the idea of phpbb reaching out to it's users like this. Not to mention it was really informative!

Keep up the great work!
