So I was right, thanks for letting us know. I wont ask when, because the only answer I can possibly get is: ,,It will be ready, when it's ready." :D

And when will come RC6?

That's the final? After RC6 comes Gold version?

Yea, seems we will wait a bit for some more fixes, hopefully less than a month for RC6, but nevermind...

Since a lot of members seem to ask the same question again and again and the anwser is always the same ;) maybe there could be some sort of percentage progression bar for all of these impatient folks out there ah ah...

Like 90% fixes up to RC6... Of course I imagine this bar would change when new bugs would occur and the percantage of bug completed could go for example to 10% the 40% the 60% then 40% (new bugs occured) the 70% the 90% then 100% that would maybe make it more clear to (impatient) members...

As far as I am cocnerned, I am perfectly customed now to the "its done when its done." process and I feel it is completly legitimate for open source project...

That would work if there was a set number of issues, which the developers work through at a constant pace. That's just not the case. If 5 more bugs are reported, then 5 more bugs need to be fixed. If you follow the bug tracker and CVS commits, then you will generally have a good idea of where we are with relation to the next release.

When will phpBB3 be released?
There is no set release schedule and there are no deadlines. New versions are released when the development team feel that it is time to do so. We therefore kindly request that you not ask for release dates. phpBB3 will be released when it is ready.[/quote]

Yea, thats right, but they can also fix things after gold is released, if needed, I guess...
You're right. So what is stopping you from using it now? To me... the only difference between the latest RC and Gold is a title. I upgraded my forums at RC5 and it is working great.
good point.
Ive been using it since RC3 without a hitch.
We've even had some very determined hackers try to get in who dont seem to have been able to do so.
I even went to their website and challenged them to do so (after they hit me with gigaloader and did end up trashing our shoutboxes) and so far nothing.
I figured if anyone was going to hack us now is the time so I could get the info to the team here while its still a RC ;)

Every now and then someone has log in issues (keep getting logged out), but its always solved by clearing out their browser cache and logging back in, so thats not a problem at all.
