Icon Descriptions or Legend

Post by gbungart »

My users are requesting either a legend of what the various icons mean or just a description. Is something like this availablae. I have searched here and looked through the docs and not found anything. I too wonder what the meaning is behind some of the icons in ProSilver such as the one that scrolls.

Thanks

Hello, in this icon if there are scroll lines, what does this mean?

The round icon to the left of a thread. Red means it has new post and if their is a star in it, it means you posted in it. But what does it mean if the lines in it are scrolling?

It means it is a popular topic (more than 20 replies, if memory serves)

It means it's a popular topic.

In the admin panel >post settings
Popular topic threshold:

The default is 25 so if it hits 25 replies it scrolls.

I would really like to propose, that an explanation of the icons as shown above, as a legend, is included by default into all the php Bulletin Boards via some link or so...

I've visited now several boards (many of them were from the php-Group), and never found there those explanations, until I came here! :-(
This is rather cumbersome, in fact...

Forums from other sources, e.g. the Opera forum, do have this, of course.

Additionally, I would want to have an icon, which clearly distinguishes a thread, which I have been initiating myself, from all the rest created by other members.
Possibly by using a square instead of a circle as outline of the icons.

Thanks for reading. :!:

Thanks for the list, but what does it mean if there is a black dot in the icon? It seems to indicate that you have posted a reply to the topic?
It's a poor day when you don't learn something!
