American English?

I looked at the phpbb languages and I have noticed something:

The American English language is still under construction when it is the easiest language to translate from British English

What the hell happened there??

anyway, sorry if I have offeneded anyone...

Does anyone Agree?

also I am British! if anyone was wondering....

The language packs are not done by the phpBB team they are done by 3rd party translators, in this case the translator never finished the pack. I guess it will remain that way until the pack maintainer decides to complete it or someone else decides to do the translation

......you mis-understand, all language packs with the exception of English-gb are 3rd party

what does "American English" different from our official British Standard English package?

words like colour... are spelt color

customise is spelt customize, lots of others like that, subtle differences, but differences all the same if you do not want your users complaining about spelling errors compared to the way they usually spell them

i am from nyc, though when i was a young i studied british english
so didn't really matter to me

The American English, and the British English are very different, and complex, Even though they are both the same lanuage.

The English Lanuage has many spellings for each word through out the world. Your best bet is to stay with British Spellings, People can still read the words the same.

Spellings that are different.

Colour - Color
Centre - Center
Aeroplane - Airplane

I could go on and on and on... but here is a link, telling you many different spelling differences, but trust me, there are many more.
