Latest topics from phpbb shown in WP site

Post by garfy »

any idea how to show lastes 20 topics from phpbb forum in wordpress page?
I am afraid to use any bridge modules....
I just want to have WP and then Pphpbb in subfolder as a forum

Or is there a way to just embed phpbb forum inside the WP site? And keep all the url structure?

Have you asked WP?

In any case, you’d be better off requesting an extension.

It seems to me that you haven't got any WP install just yet. So the first question would be why you want to install WP in the first place. There are some extension for phpBB that allow you to create pages or a CMS/Blog like extension
My extensions:
Simple CMS, Feed post bot, Avatar Resize, Modbreak, Magic OGP, Live topic update, Modern Quote, Quoted Where (GDPR) and Autoresponder.
Newest: FAQ manager for 3.2

Exactly, how it’s meant to be.

Without extensions, you are right. But many extensions can extend phpBB to be more than a forum.

Take a look here for example, all that is from the cmBB extension. Or the board 3 portal or simply static pages. (none of the linked boards are mine, nor am I in any way related to them)

My point is; you could of course install another package like WordPress, but for simple pages or other small things, you'll probably be better off keeping all things together. Bridging software packages keeps getting you headaches, if not now than probably in the future with updates.
