There is no correlation between location and IP address

Your question is worthless. All math questions can be Googled. This would work:

Q: Type the last word in the name of this board.

Answer: Delusions

Think of people travelling round the world? What happens if a "legal" visitor (someone who is resident in the countries you allow to join) googles your board during a trip to india staying at a hotel in Mumbai? And what happens if he wants to register?

And furthermore, checking IP addresses is a total waste of time when somebody registers on your board. With eg. VPN, proxies, TOR everybody can get a IP address from anywhere in the world.

There might have been a correlation 10 or 15 years ago, but no longer nowadays. A lot of documentation about that is still "out in the wild", and some geo ip services still operate, but the hit ratio is getting worse.

BTW: your Q&A is much too simple, it can easily solved by spambots

Edit: fixed typo ...

Of course there is, if.... you put next to IP and location "You lie, you out"

(BTW David, I'm waiting for your reply, you know where)

If you believe that then it is about time you learnt how today's internet works. I can be legitimately in the UK, state that my location is the UK but my IP address can be from another country.

You are just going round in circles but obviously you know better that the rest of us so just go ahead and do whatever it is that you are trying to do, the effect of which will be to drive away members of your board.

Never heard about a proxiserver or VPN (there is one inside the Opera browser )

People can access your board from every country in the word, in a very simple way.
Sorry! My English is bat ;) !!!

If there isn’t a solution to this soon there will be no help at all due to the 3.1 EOL Announcement

There are no ‘threads’ in phpBB, they are topics.

Bot will Google math answer just to drop a few bogus users?
More than 20 days now not even 1 Bot signup is lousy record?

Your problem guys, you're assuming that everyone is using Proxies or
anonymous browsing whereas at the very best there is maybe 1 % of
internet spammers and even they are choosy where to spam.
Example: directory in my Sig.

BTW, did you Google for answer?

Really?
Well, if Bots Google for answer, then they are stupidest of them all,
because they still can't figure out that simplest math answer.

What are you confirming with your second 'yes'?

BTW, I wonder if any of you've try to Google for an answer
to that simple math question, how much: 2 + 2 ÷ 2 = ?
Again, this is on 3rd grade level math.

Try to Google and see if you will find an answer, because I couldn't
and if you will have the same lack, then good lack if Bots will find.

even if you can't find it on google, a 1-letter-result has a very limited number of tries to solve ..

Google just gave me the right answer in a tenth of a second.

You may not have bots....yet, but when they find you they'll hammer that while you're fast asleep.

Can you post snap of Google's page with answer?
