Hey,
Thanks again. Let me try understanding it.
If I place the following code in the user profile template after I created the profile field labelled 'rabbit' :
Code: Select all
<!-- IF S_PROFILE_RABBIT -->
<dt>{PROFILE_FIELD1_NAME}{L_COLON}</dt> <dd>{PROFILE_FIELD1_VALUE}</dd>
<!-- ENDIF -->
Would this show the actual 'rabbit' profile field ? If yes, is it possible to use this in other templates, such as the overall_header one ?

The way I myself go about things, is look at existional code that is close to what I am after and see how I can implement/adjust it to my needs.
It's all good. I just wanna specify that I'm a total beginner in PHP as I didn't even really begin learning it.. but I don't want this
weakness to block me from creating my own project. This is why I struggle in looking at already-existent codes to understand how it works.
mrgoldy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 1:34 pmAs shown in the
memberlist.php
file, there is a Custom Profile Fields manager, that is probably your best bet.
Are you talking about an actual extension or about the core extension in the basic phpBB files ?
mrgoldy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 1:34 pmOn a side note, if you're adjusting core files, please make sure to keep a file somewhere describing your changes somewhere, cause you will have to re-do them after you update your phpBB version at some point. Just a tip / heads up!
Thanks for the tip, that's something I'd easily forget. I noted it somewhere.
