I think that you need to explain either what the problem is or what it is that you are trying to do.

Didn't i already? So "Can one use some certain extension to show adsense ads - like if I'd copy/paste the adsense code into the 'welcome index extension'?

Ok, anyway, where are the installation details for this ad extension, it only shows a link to a general extension installation: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/ads/

Edit: never mind, I figured it out. :P

The answer to your first question (in the topic title) is probably yes, but "random extension" is quite a broad concept and as such the answer, though theoretically correct, is probably not enlightening to you (or anyone).
Your second question, responding to david63's, is more informative but since this is a non-support specific area, the probability of users of the specific extension reading this, is a lot lower than if it were posted in the relevant extension support topic (or better even in the area for support with extension development).
My board's not broken, it just went peculiar

You need to seek support where you downloaded the extension -> https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/ads/. There's a "Discussion/Support" tab.
