On this moment there is no trace of that code on your board.

Where did you put it exactly?

And you made a mess of your html :(

Hi janus it didn't work so I removed it, but just now put it back under the social media buttons on the overall_footer.html template,

Here is the code

Code: Select all

<br>
<center><div class="addthis_inline_share_toolbox"></div></center>
<br>
<center><a href="https://twitter.com/sponsorchater?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" class="twitter-follow-button" data-show-count="false">Follow @sponsorchater</a><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></center>

<br>
<center><font face="arial" color="000000" size=“3">
	Copyright Since 2004 sponsorchat.com<br></font></center>
  <font face="arial" color="b4b4b4" size=“2">powered by phpbb
</size=></font></center>
<br>
<center><script language="JavaScript" src="http://feed2js.org//feed2js.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.bbci.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fworld%2Frss.xml&chan=y&desc=1&utf=y"  charset="UTF-8" type="text/javascript"></script>

<noscript>
<a href="http://feed2js.org//feed2js.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.bbci.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fworld%2Frss.xml&chan=y&desc=1&utf=y&html=y">View RSS feed</a>
</noscript></center>
</div>
</div>

I’ve had a bit of a play with feed2js.org and I can’t get it to display either. The feed is being generated, as can be seen by right click + view source, but it won’t show. Maybe it’s the way phpBB is constructed these days I’m not sure, maybe someone with a better grasp on the programming side of things can help. I have contacted the author but that may not be an instantaneous reply.

I have a feeling it might be a server side issue.

I made a test page https://www.sponsorchat.com/index3.html

added 2 codes at the bottom.

Code: Select all

<center><script language="JavaScript" src="http://feed2js.org//feed2js.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.bbci.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fworld%2Frss.xml&chan=y&desc=1&utf=y"  charset="UTF-8" type="text/javascript"></script>

<noscript>
<a href="http://feed2js.org//feed2js.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.bbci.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fworld%2Frss.xml&chan=y&desc=1&utf=y&html=y">View RSS feed</a>
</noscript></center>
<br>

<center><br><DIV ID="TICKER" STYLE="overflow:hidden; width:520px; color: #000;">
  <? include "http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss" ?>
</DIV>
<script type="text/javascript" src="webticker_lib.js" language="javascript"></script>
	<br></center>

One doesn't show up the 2nd one shows some server configuration error, just sharing this, I am not technical as many here might have guessed.

Peace

I tried it as a stand-alone html file and it still won’t show so that blows that out of the water. Maybe it’s a browser thing?

I asked my host to have a look at it, as soon as they reply I will update the thread, if the news ticker code does not work on a simple html page then it's not a phpbb issue,

Peace

These guys are quick, took all of 2 minutes from opening the ticket to a reply, here is what they wrote.

"Fixed some errors by enabling: allow_url_fopen
Other need contact to developer for clarification."
