After conversion, a big part of users are missing!

Post by Idefix4 » Sun May 02, 2010 12:46 am

I did a successful conversion (there was one or two error during the way, but nothing serious I guess since it went through) now when I open both Admin panels on the 2 forums I see this:

Old forum:

Number of posts: 71360 Posts per day: 51.34
Number of topics: 4921 Topics per day: 3.54
Number of users: 1218 Users per day: 0.88
Board started: 12 July 2006 03:21 am Avatar directory size: 823.3 KB
Database size: 133.24 MB Gzip compression: OFF

The new one:

Number of posts: 71360 Posts per day: 51.34
Number of topics: 4957 Topics per day: 3.57
Number of users: 965 Users per day: 0.69
Number of attachments: 2299 Attachments per day: 1.65
Board started: 12 Jul 2006 03:21 am Avatar directory size: 800.17 KiB
Database size: 64.14 MiB Size of posted attachments: 379.63 MiB
Database server: MySQL(i) 5.0.90-community-log GZip compression: Off
Board version: 3.0.7-PL1 [ Re-Check version ] Orphan attachments: 0

Should I be worried about this? Or this is normal? The Pm and posts are all there, it's just on the admin panel it shows the different size of db. Shall I continue with using the new forum or what?

Have you built the Search Index yet? If not, that will nearly double the size of your database.

Other Question: Where are the 253 users from the first board?
Multilanguage TimeSplitters Site

If you need support, I suggest you to use the Support Request Template for your questions on this board. If you have some serious problems, the Support Toolkit can fix it (depends on the problem).

I've missed that!

Now I'm pissed off. Don't know where the problem might be.

phpBB3 does not count inactive users. How many inactive users do you have?

I've just checked that, and INDEED there are around 300 inactive users in that menu. How can i set this for all of them to be active AND to remain active at all times?

Thanks!

Are you sure you want to activate them all? If they are inactive, there is usually a good reason for it, like maybe they are spammers and their account was never activated after they registered. If you activate them, you may start getting spam on your board. Maybe you should delete them instead? Or you could send them reminders that they need to activate their account.

In any case, go to the Inactive users page. Here you can select multiple users and choose from the dropdown whether to activate, delete or remind.

OK I did that! Now another problem! I can not see the ^^ buttons for the font adjustment. Where can I enable this?

It may be a cache folder problem. Are the permissions of the cache folder set to 777?

As a temporary fix, using phpMyAdmin, go to the phpbb_config table and find board disable under config_name. Edit this row and set the config_value to 0. Then delete all the files in the cache folder except for .htaccess and index.htm.

That did it! Thank you! Any solution about the font adjustment buttons?

I don't see a question here about the font adjustment button, but as that is a style issue and not a conversion issue, you will need to ask in the Styles Support forum.
