I have added your forum software to the long list of forum softwares that people want to be converted to phpBB3. If no one else has the interest or time, I will get to it eventually.
I've discovered a nasty scalability problem with Vanilla; this convertor would be very useful to me as a way of resolving the problem, by replacing Vanilla with PhpBB3 - was any progress made on this?
I would like to post a friendly bump on this thread. My forum is ready to make the change to phpBB but with a thousand members and several thousand posts, It would be board suicide to have everyone register again and loose all the posts =\
That convertor converts Vanilla to phpBB2. There are some things, like user groups, that the convert does not do. These will have to be created after the conversion.
Once phpBB2 is up and running, then the conversion to phpBB3 could be done.
Update phpbb_topics set forum_id = '2' where forum_id = '3'; -- General
Update phpbb_topics set forum_id = '16' where forum_id = '24'; -- Site Info
Update phpbb_topics set forum_id = '13' where forum_id = '11'; -- Admin Archive
Update phpbb_topics set forum_id = '4' where forum_id = '23'; -- ASM Info
Update phpbb_topics set forum_id = '15' where forum_id = '17'; -- Files and Tools
Update phpbb_topics set forum_id = '3' where forum_id = '18'; -- Spam
Update phpbb_topics set forum_id = '14' where forum_id = '20'; -- Archive
Update phpbb_topics set forum_id = '9' where forum_id = '25'; -- Archive
Would anyone mind explaining it to me?\
Edit:
I skipped that step and manually made the Forums, After resyncing the forums, all(I think?) the posts are there along with replys... But there all scrambled up. I assume that the above I skipped is the cause for this. Any help?
Just out of curiosity (to the one who started the post - and for those who wish to answer, please do).
Why didn't you like about Vanilla... I installed it today and been messing around with it... it has some of a potential... (sorry for being off topic, I just didnt' want to start a new post about this incase people would get angry).
