Try reseting the value for PM in the backend and have the forum do a recount of messages.
I noticed that in a conversion I did and it seemed to fix the misreporting.

Thanks for answering my post. Can you please tell me exactly where in the database (table,fields,etc) I need to reset the PM value?

Thank you :)

Hi guys,

first of all I'd like to thank you for this convertor! I was desperate to convert our SMF-forum to phpBB3.

SInce I'd like to contribute to the convertor itself, I want you to know about an issue I ran into...

There was a username that contained a single quote (') in it's SMF-username, but on conversion it would fail exactly on that, since the memberName is enclosed with single quotes as well in the convertor. Wouldn't it be a better solution to enclose it by double quotes?

So instead of having:

Code: Select all

	$sql = "SELECT ID_MEMBER
		FROM {$convert->src_table_prefix}members
		WHERE memberName = '$username'";
in the smf_get_userid_from_username-method, I'd suggest to change it to:

Code: Select all

	$sql = "SELECT ID_MEMBER
		FROM {$convert->src_table_prefix}members
		WHERE memberName = \"".$username."\"";
...that did the trick for me!

Thanks!

In the ACP there is a setting for the allowed PM messages.
Board configuration => Private message settings - Maximum private messages per box: 0
I then did board recount and reset the Maximum private messages per box to the value I wanted and all looked OK.

This problem has been addressed in the SMF_phpBB3_convertor_B5 B5 version of the convertor. Is this the version that you used?

I've got a very strange issue! After converting SMF to PhpBB3, the online status on the topic pages doesn't work! It has something to do with this line in viewbody_topic.html:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF postrow.S_ONLINE --> online<!-- ENDIF -->">
Switch the forum to a clean fresh database turns back on the online status. So I think a converted database is corrupting the online function. Could that be true or has somebody a clue what's causing this and how to fix it!?

Solved: Grrr, silly me => ACP -> Globaal -> settings server -> Display online/offline info on prolfile- message pages!

worked great for me from SMF 1.1.5 to phpbb3.0.1

only had issues with:

1. username and passwords that contain ascii characters
2. by default some boards and groups automatically had the option for post moderation which means an admin/mod needs to approve or disapprove the post before it can be seen by everyone

I tried that and it didn't work I also noticed that my board's statistics are totally wrong even after I syncronize them :(

I'm having an issue with Attachments converting correctly.

We have about 5,000 attachments all under 600K. It APPEARS to have converted everything, and generated the thumbnails. There are now attachments and thumbs for everything in the "files/" directory, but only about 5% of them show up. The rest show up as question-marks.

eg:
Attachments

this is what it looks like...

We've run it a couple different times. both WITH and WITHOUT a limit on the files directory size, and with and without the thumbnail conversion.

Any ideas guys?

Update: It appears that "JPG" files are not able to be displayed, but "jpg" files are.

I've tried adding/deleting jpg from the list of allowed extensions...no dice.

Is the JPG the cause of your question marks?

You can either rename the file extensions to jpg or you can apply this fix and run the convertor again.

OPEN functions_smf11.php

FIND (line 1230)

Code: Select all

			return $Ex;
REPLACE WITH

Code: Select all

			return strtolower($Ex);

After convert, how about Change Username?

In SMF, i enable user to change their different display name. And in phpBB3 i can set it too. But, many my user cannot login in first time. I tell them to use "forgot password" but its still same. Then i must reset their password manually. I think its because a set of "change username".

My admin login to forum with username: admin, but when i login to ACP, its show other name (display name). Which exact name should use to login? Can i disable Change Username in phpBB3?

And yes, how about Reactivation in phpBB3? Maybe i can use to send reactivation to my user mail? I think its more simple.

Thanks and sorry about my english.
