Can someone try this for me? I need to make a new board and when it is done, I want to copy over all the threads, forums, users, permissions, etc. Does this script do that? Does it do it well? And does it actually work?

What do you have now? From the limited information in your post, it sounds like you only need to convert your existing forum/"community".

Hi!
I´m looking exact for such a script because i´ve to merge two diferent phpbb3 boards together but after i´ve changed all files sql username/password i executed the files step1 until step8 and i get everytime the same error

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/web0000/htdocs4/phpbb3/merge/step1.php on line 35
Pleas help me - maybe its my fault so tell me!
i am using apache 2 with mysql5 and PHP Version 4.4.4-8
regards Martin

Another question: what does the script if it find the same username on both phpbb3 boards? - merges the information? maybe on two installation two diferent people use the same username???

OK sorry i didnt remember this thread.

1) I ran this script on PHP5 with mysql (Script may require changes to run with another backend)

2) I will try and track down my latest working sorce

3) One thing I do remember is after the conversion you have to reset all the topics heighraci because this script has to flatten them to work.

Latest version I think:

Alright the problem was solved by using php5 instead of php4 - but the script has still some errors executing step3:

Code: Select all

Duplicate entry '23' for key 1
INSERT INTO `phpbb_users` (user_id,user_type,group_id,user_permissions,user_perm_from,user_ip,user_regdate,username,username_clean,user_password,user_passchg,user_pass_convert,user_email,user_email_hash,user_birthday,user_lastvisit,user_lastmark,user_lastpost_time,user_lastpage,user_last_confirm_key,user_last_search,user_warnings,user_last_warning,user_login_attempts,user_inactive_reason,user_inactive_time,user_posts,user_lang,user_timezone,user_dst,user_dateformat,user_style,user_rank,user_colour,user_new_privmsg,user_unread_privmsg,user_last_privmsg,user_message_rules,user_full_folder,user_emailtime,user_topic_show_days,user_topic_sortby_type,user_topic_sortby_dir,user_post_show_days,user_post_sortby_type,user_post_sortby_dir,user_notify,user_notify_pm,user_notify_type,user_allow_pm,user_allow_viewonline,user_allow_viewemail,user_allow_massemail,user_options,user_avatar,user_avatar_type,user_avatar_width,user_avatar_height,user_sig,user_sig_bbcode_uid,user_sig_bbcode_bitfield,user_from,user_icq,user_aim,user_yim,user_msnm,user_jabber,user_website,user_occ,user_interests,user_actkey,user_newpasswd,user_form_salt) VALUES ('23','0','2','','0','','1174427266','lars','lars','8aca831f0436abcd6cb8bad9b9abcb84','0','1','lars@hello.ws','137867014716',' 0- 0- 0','1175452508','1175452508','0','','','0','0','0','0','0','0','0','en','1.00','0','D d M, Y H:i','1','0','','0','0','1175452507','0','-3','0','0','t','d','0','t','a','1','1','0','1','1','0','1','1919','','0','0','0','','1gyn9p4x','0','','','','','','','','','','','','')
much more of this (i´m using phpBB3.0.1)
and the users wont be inserted correctly!

step4.php i think wont work fine because of:

Code: Select all

while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($res)){
?>
<iframe src="http://localhost/gold/adm/index.php?i=forums&sid=83f7209d5dcf4fc035f7cf0ca53bf3f3&icat=7&mode=manage&parent_id=0&f=<?=$row['forum_id']?>&action=sync"></iframe>
<?
}
?>
therse no localhost/gold/adm on my site ;)

Maybe in the next version you use a config.php which will be included into step1.php to step8.php - much easier to config and maybe to not make any mistakes ;)

Can anybody tell me if they have had a successful merge? I'm a little weary to try it... I have two large boards merging into one,

I get this lots and LOTS of times on step 3. And I completely agree with this error message, '' surely isn't a correct integer value. Whadda I do now? :cry:

Code: Select all

Incorrect integer value: '' for column 'user_id' at row 1
INSERT INTO `phpbb_users` (user_id,user_type,group_id,user_permissions,user_perm_from,user_ip,user_regdate,username,username_clean,user_password,user_passchg,user_pass_convert,user_email,user_email_hash,user_birthday,user_lastvisit,user_lastmark,user_lastpost_time,user_lastpage,user_last_confirm_key,user_last_search,user_warnings,user_last_warning,user_login_attempts,user_inactive_reason,user_inactive_time,user_posts,user_lang,user_timezone,user_dst,user_dateformat,user_style,user_rank,user_colour,user_new_privmsg,user_unread_privmsg,user_last_privmsg,user_message_rules,user_full_folder,user_emailtime,user_topic_show_days,user_topic_sortby_type,user_topic_sortby_dir,user_post_show_days,user_post_sortby_type,user_post_sortby_dir,user_notify,user_notify_pm,user_notify_type,user_allow_pm,user_allow_viewonline,user_allow_viewemail,user_allow_massemail,user_options,user_avatar,user_avatar_type,user_avatar_width,user_avatar_height,user_sig,user_sig_bbcode_uid,user_sig_bbcode_bitfield,user_from,user_icq,user_aim,user_yim,user_msnm,user_jabber,user_website,user_occ,user_interests,user_actkey,user_newpasswd,user_form_salt) VALUES ('','0','159','','0','','1167425501','borzol','borzol','c2de33ab5622dab5ae879d98bf0fa08d','0','1','anemailadress@adomainname.com','178673926120',' 0- 0- 0','1203386199','1203386199','0','','','0','0','0','0','0','0','29','en','1.00','0','D M d, Y g:i a','1','0','','0','0','1167694686','0','-3','0','0','t','d','0','t','a','0','1','0','1','1','0','1','1919','21.jpg','1','80','80','','2wu4jon3','0','','','','','','','','','','','','')
EDIT: It also happens with topic_id's and post_id's... other than this (possibly small) bug the script seems to be running just fine as I just tried to run the following steps too. The same bug showed up on step 7, but only one time so I think this is just some compatibility problem. I'm running PHP 5.2.5 and MySQL 5.0.

Im sorry, I officially am providing no support for this converter. As it says in the first post this is just some code that worked for me and Yeah it was once off code. In the near future I may rewrite it if I need it (Im thinking about a merge on top of a merge) I will probably rewrite it to depend on less javascript and be overall better.

I dont know why but i cant modify this script to work - everytime errors listed above.
