Mod/Extension to run Quizzes out of Topics

Post by bog126 »

Title/Job Description:
I would like to hire an experienced phpBB developer to build a phpBB mod for a quiz system made out of the forum topics (specifically first posts of the topics).

Reward:
This is a work for hire. Paid for multiple deliverables in stages. I have detailed job documentation that I will share before you bid.

Deadline:
Looking to start ASAP. I expect it will take about 2 months to complete.

Preferred contact method: (e.g. PM, e-mail)
Please PM me a short list of your completed phpBB projects. I am looking to shortlist a small group of developers to share the documentation and to refine the bid/pricing.

Detailed description of the tasks:
My forum version is 3.0.2 and php 7.2
Will need to Update the forum theme to allow for a modified view
Will need to create several new pages such as Results and quiz settings
An eye for design would be a plus
I have additional projects and would be interested in working with you long term.

Thanks!

That doesn't sound right ;-)
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Awesome you are familiar with the compatibilities ;-)
I am looking for a person who could spot something out of the ordinary!
There is a fair amount of customization to the board and it was modified to work with php 7.2 a few months ago. It was easier to modify it than upgrade. Either way, it is still 3.0.2 and 7.2 :D

OK, however php 7.2 will be EOL end of this month. And phpBB3.0.x has been EOL for quite some time now (as has 3.1).
If you're self hosting you should be able to keep php 7.2 but if not, sooner or later you'll have to upgrade the php version.
Also, as to support from phpBB.com: that is limited to upgrading. With that in mind, it might be worth looking into working towards a 3.3 version with extensions replacing your current (and foreseen) addons (any modifications you make now will only increase the work needed for a later upgrade).

BTW I'm not solliciting.
