Awesome you are familiar with the compatibilities
I am looking for a person who could spot something out of the ordinary!
There is a fair amount of customization to the board and it was modified to work with php 7.2 a few months ago. It was easier to modify it than upgrade. Either way, it is still 3.0.2 and 7.2
OK, however php 7.2 will be EOL end of this month. And phpBB3.0.x has been EOL for quite some time now (as has 3.1).
If you're self hosting you should be able to keep php 7.2 but if not, sooner or later you'll have to upgrade the php version.
Also, as to support from phpBB.com: that is limited to upgrading. With that in mind, it might be worth looking into working towards a 3.3 version with extensions replacing your current (and foreseen) addons (any modifications you make now will only increase the work needed for a later upgrade).
BTW I'm not solliciting.
