prosilver GDK v0.1 for translators

Post by dhn »

Edit: Attention:
As there was some contradictory information inside this forum regarding the used font sizes on the buttons. We are always using Helvetica Neue LT Std 55 Roman and 75 Bold. This is Helvetica Medium / Bold on other versions of the font. This also complies to Arial Regular and Bold.

Here is a quick and dirty thrown together GDK with most of the images you need for a translation. Please note that you will probably not have the font available on Windows systems (we are using Helvetica). In this case you can simply use Arial - it will look almost the same as Arial is a shameless copy of Helvetica.

If your Mac has problems with the fonts too (wasn't able to test), just replace them with your standard Helvetica, we are using a commercial OpenType version internally.

We apologise that we are not yet able to offer you a full GDK, but the long development process and different versions and incarnations of prosilver make it difficult to collect all the correct images. But rest assured that we are working on it and we will of course have a proper GDK ready for the final release.

This GDK misses the online / offline buttons. If you find anything else missing, simply reply to this topic. Thanks and have fun translating! :)

Please note that the GDK files fall under the same non-GPL license as the old one:

They are probably not needed for translation but since you want us to report missing icons and all the others are in there, too:
The Jabber icons seem to be missing...

//Edit: ...one question: The zipped image should contain all the gradients, too, shouldn't it?
If yes, then Gimp seems to have problems with these...
Could you maybe also release it in a non-proprietary format when it's finished? (Not only because of the (possible) gradient problems, but also "on principle".)

//Edit: removed the attachment since it's no longer needed...

Please only report icons important to translators. I know that there are some icons in there that are not needed for translation, but more or less only because I didn't feel like removing them.

Please note, I updated the psd because there was a small error in the files, there is no longer a 1px space between the normal and rollover elements of the post/reply and the contact topic icons.

Yeah, as mentioned: v0.1 - we are aware of the different wording. We never had a proper SDK for ourselves, so some changes have to be redone.

That is possible, but I would need to output each layer style to their own layer. That is something I would rather keep to the end as it will make the document very crowded (3 to 4 times the amount of layers I estimate).

I'm at loss here... I was able to work perfeclty fine with the phpBB2 subSilver GDK, I just saved for web and it saved all the slices as a separate image all by itself. This seems to have no slices at all? At least it looks that way if I go view => show => slices. And using "save for web" it simply saves the entire image. :(

Great; Thanks :D
Until then the attached image in the first post should work also...
Mabe you could save that one as .png instead of .jpg and keep it up-to-date then, too?

The final version will have slices, for now you have to do it manually, sorry.

You can't download it for free, it's a commercial font. It's purchasable and downloadable online though, use Google. Example: http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/linotype/neue-helvetica/
