Translation doesn't have to be identical with original version - it firstly should be rational. Translation that I've sent will be also used on official polish imageset for prosilver.

I agree that LEW's translation is incorrect. Being a maintainer does not allow anyone to proclaim himself as translation guru (as his translation has not been approved by any official Polish support site).

Daro's version in almost OK, with following changes:
* "Forward" - "Przekaż"
* "New PM" - "Nowa PW"
* "Send Reply" - "Wyślij odpowiedź"
* "Locked" - "Zamknięty"
* "Quick Reply" - "Szybka odpowiedź"
* "New Topic" - "Nowy temat"
* "Post Reply" - "Odpowiedz"
* "PM" - "PW"
* "E-Mail" - "E-mail"
* "Homepage" - "Strona domowa"
* "Website" - "Strona WWW"
* "Private Message" - "Prywatna wiadomość"
* "Edit" - "Zmień"
* "Quote" - "Cytuj"
* "Delete" - "Usuń"
* "Report" - "Zgłoś"
* "Info" - "Info"
* "Online" - "Online"
* "Offline" - "Offline"
* "Invisible" - "Ukryty"
* "Search" - "Szukaj"
* "Reply" - "Odpowiedz"
* "Profile" - "Profil"
* "New Post" - "Nowy Post"

My translation of the buttons is not identical to English version, but it better represents what that buttons do. I know that some people, that were using phpBB for very long time, may not like it - phpBB2's subsilver buttons were translated like dabroz and daroPL wrote. But it will not make any difference for normal/new users and it is more semantic, like prosilver :P.

PS. Dabroz, I know that you don't like everything that is done by me because I (not anybody from phpBB2.PL's team) became Polish language pack maintainer, but you don't have to write it everywhere :P I'm looking for further opinions on official Polish translation project board. You know the address ;)

I think that New topic is not the same that New post and therefore I agree with Dabroz. If we were to be increadibly accurate, we should have translated Locked as Zablokowany, not Zamknięty, but IMHO it is not such a big deal to make a problem (users are used to it because it's been like this ever since subSilver for phpBB 2 was translated).

For all concerned: please don't find it as our personal war - it is not our goal (and we claim it all the time) to show that we are better (and to make any mess, especially there) but to provide Polish-speaking users as good phpBB translation as it is possible. Still, it seems to be true that where there are two Poles, there are three judgements.

Intl support forums does not have the final say over the translation. Do not even think about that they would have such right.
Only official support is available through phpbb.com

What you quoted looks like is the usual case of "Someone likes the doughter instead of the mother, but the third one has a boyfriend in mind"

What i suggest is that you open your forum for all the translations.
Are you really sure that your version is the only one that people prefer? No. i dont think so. I'm translator for the Finnish language pack so i know this and i'm willing to host other translations than the one i have done.
Someone will always whine about how something has been translated.

Behave and quit fighting about something as trivial as a language pack. You never get it right so that it would please everyone just because all the borrowed words and a teenager talk. :)

There is actually no problem but the confusion of future users. I have no quarrel with LEW, I have nothing against multiple translations (quantity improves quality, after all) but should such basic words as button captions be translated every time in different way? It's users' sole choice which translation they should use, but it would be handy to have imagesets compatible between each of them. The version of captions I posted is, in fact, the most popular one: in has been used since phpBB2 and users and designers are used to it. Community - not only translators - also accepted it, as you can see in our wiki-based community translation page.

Flamewar in such matters is nothing new, so I stay cool. :)
