Do language packs translate between languages?

Post by mr.wood » Thu Jan 17, 2008 7:42 am

Hi. I have searched and could not find the answer to my question.

Maybe this has been asked before, or it has an obvious answer. In any case, I apologize beforehand :)

Anyhow, I was wondering if different language packs can translate between each other...

For instance: If I have Chinese installed and English, can a Chinese user type in Chinese and an English user be able to read that in English? So in effect you can have multiple languages communicating when neither speaks the others language?

Of course this would be awesome, but I think that it would be a monumental task to be able to do. I dunno.

OK. Thanks. -Ryan

No, it does not work like that. Language packs only translate the strings the board shows, like "post a reply" :)
