the style maybe based on prosilver but it is still a different style.
here is where it tells us it is out of date:
https://newtotse.com/phpbb3/styles/TotseOG/style.cfg

your cookies are :

Code: Select all

Cookie name
    NewTotse
Cookie domain
    newtotse.com
Cookie path
    /
Cookie secure
    No
and they should be:

Code: Select all

Cookie name
    NewTotse
Cookie domain
.newtotse.com ( notice the dot in front )
Cookie path
    /
Cookie secure
yes ( you are using SSL so the cookie secure setting should be yes )

the cookie secure settings could keep you from being able to log into the admin panel,
the style be so far out of date could have an affect on this.

until you get the board set back to what it should be we can't really troubleshoot anything else.

You are still mixing the http and the https,
Which one are you using to enter the ACP?
This is semi frustrating because I've already stated my error log shows nothing to do with phpBB:
You write
No errors in the server error log within the last month either.
So how do we know that the errors are still logged?
Sorry! My English is bat ;) !!!

I've tried both and neither works.

Because an error was logged today for an unrelated section of the site. I should have said "No errors related to phpBB" but I anticipated the follow up "How do you KNOW it's not phpBB related?", and I apologize for the miscommunication.

I changed the cookie settings again making sure it's forcing server variables and it's still not working. I really don't think it's theme or cookie related.

If I do a fresh install can I restore the posts and users from an SQL backup or does it have to be generated by phpBB? That's about the only thing I can think to do at this point

no reason to do that at all.
if you want, you can replace all of the files with new ones except for the config.php file.

if you have any attachments in the folder named files do not delete that folder.

otherwise, delete all the existing phpBB files except for the config.php file.
download a fresh copy of the phpBB 3.3 file to your computer and unzip it.
remove the folder named install and the blank config.php file.

upload all the rest to the server letting them overwrite anything it asks about.

be sure you follow these instructions exactly.

if doing this does not solve your problem then it means that the files are fine.
that leaves either a problem in the database or something wrong with your server setup.

I see you have Cookie secure enabled but you can still access your site via http which will cause an error. On the subject of your style, to save all the to-ing and fro-ing please revert to the default prosilver and test, if you havn’t already. It is well known in phpBB circles that board and style versions must match.

That's literally the exact link that I used to change it to what it is. I'm really not sure what to say. Without being able to access the ACP I can't do a whole lot more than what I've already done. Also, I already changed the theme reluctantly and it didn't solve anything.

K, and when that still doesn't work what's my next step? I can't even disable the board because I can't access the ACP.

Sweet, so now I can't log in. It says I exceeded the maximum amount of log in attempts and must solve a captcha.

As a side note SOMETHING must have worked because it recognized the fact I enabled the maintenance flag via PhpMyAdmin.

The one I'm talking to has went as far as telling me the exact PHP version (PHP 7.3 (ea-php 73)).
The 3.2.3 README.html file only indicates php compatibility up to version 7.2. Revert to 7.2 and test.

I can't revert to anything because I'm not the host.

To make matters worse, now I can't log back in because it's not accepting my same password that I've typed in a dozen times the last 3 days trying to figure this out.

They changed it to php 7.2, not that it matters though because I'm locked out of the admin account after uploading the new files.

Got into the admin account.

Re-enabled my original theme and extensions and it works just fine.

Thanks for nothing.

Don't mark this as solved either since nobody here solved it.
