[Solved] "This board has no forums" - what am I getting wrong?

Post by Sophocles »

I made a category and added two forums:

In admin it looks like this:
Screen Shot 2022-01-17 at 04.40.36.png
Screen Shot 2022-01-17 at 04.40.36.png (16.18 KiB) Viewed 1811 times

The user sees this:
Screen Shot 2022-01-17 at 04.29.20.png

Then I opened the first forum and at the top I get "This board has no forums" (However under 'Topics' I see a test posting:
Screen Shot 2022-01-17 at 04.29.50.png
Obviously I am doing something wrong .... but what is it? I'd appreciate some guidance.

Thanks indeed

That doesn't look like prosilver.

Have you tried with prosilver as style? (and not using Flightdeck)

php version? (not that I think this could be the cause, but)
A url to your site could help to see the problem in action (you could send it by PM

Thanks for your reply. If I turn on prosilver again, will I loose the settings of the extension?

prosilver is a style and has nothing to do with an extension. That being said I have no idea what PlanetStyles Flight Deck (v2) is (style and extension?). If it is part extension then I would suspect that the extension comes into play only with the specific style, and if it's not it should either work with prosilver or be in an inactivated/dormant state automatically. (I would expect PlanetStyles Flight Deck (v2) to include some information about that).

Whatever the case. If you take a database backup before switching styles, and only then switch to prosilver- it's a piece of cake to restore your board to the state before the change (just test it with the board disabled temporarily: only admins and moderator will have access).

You can switch from style without losing any data.
As long that you don't delete the data from the style extension.

Ok, I looked at Prosilver and there I do not have that issue. I'll get in touch with the authors of the style/extension.

Thanks for guiding me.
