If your forum is getting 100+ posts a day then you might want to set Topic Fetch Limit to 1.

I am aware of your many problems with Hostgator and I am aware of the reason why you remain with them. However, if your forum is that active then you are going to have to start thinking of moving to a better host or at the very minimum stop installing extensions as these tend to use more server resources.
