3.3.0 to 3.3.1 - Continue update process

Post by gregmcc »

Time for the upgrade, downloaded the automatic update version. put the Install, vendor and docs in the right spots.

set browser to install directory, selected update tab, then clicked the update box.

Now at >update files, two choices download modified files archive "download" - this gives me "Information unable to guess the mime type as no guessers are available (did you enable the php_fileinfo extension?), so I go back a step and select "check files again", this gets to 100% and I select "install files",

this get to 100% and the "continue update process" is greyed out.

so just going around and around in circles, any ideas?

downloaded the automatic update version
Is there some reason why you are using the automatic update in preference to the recommended file replacement option?

The settings of phpBB and its extensions is stored in database.

The "automatic" updater is only needed if you did a lot of changes to the core files.

The automatic updater should be avoided to begin with, nowadays, because it seems there are serious issues with it.

Ok, so now i've given the full installer a go,

I selected the install tab, then clicked the 'install' button, and get "The installer detected a timeout

The installer has detected a timeout, you may try to refresh the page, which may lead to data corruption. We suggest that you either increase your timeout settings or try to use the CLI."

it just does not want to work for me today.....

Followed the instructions, just gave me a different error message. I should have screen shoted it, but didn't.

Looks like something in the store folder is messing it up, but for now i've given up and restored a backup and continued to use 3.3.0
