Cannot PM anyone

Post by Catsmother »

Hello again.
Sorry for bothering you all again.

I removed one of my Admins from the Admin group, I don't know what I have done but no one is able to send a PM myself included.
I have checked the private message settings and they are all enabled.

Any idea what this could be please?

Weird that I can't PM either.
I get the following message.

Try running a permission mask on your username

Bottom of the permissions menu

view user based permissions
Put your username in the bottom left box and submit

Then look at the private messages tab and you'll see a red box next to the ability to send PMs
Click the O-> icon at the left end of that line and it will show you where the block is. Post a screenshot if you're not sure how to interpret the pop up you get.

Taking one person out of a group would not have stopped everyone being able to PM.

Check ACP=>Permissions=>View user-based permissions and then Look up yourself and view permissions. Look at the private messages tab, what does the 'Can send private messages' show? If it isn't Yes then perhaps trace the settings.
