I think .jpg, .png and .gif will work. Maybe .svg - try it. The image needs to be in a folder under the root of your phpBB installation. For example, let's say your board is at mydomain.com/phpBB and you make a folder called forum_imgs which contains the file cool_img.jpg.

You would enter in that box ./forum_imgs/cool_img.jpg

I can stop all your spam. I can upgrade or update your Board. PM or email me. (Paid support)

Careful with SVG image because phpBB doesn’t impose and dimension limits on the forum image, so whatever size image you upload is the size phpBB will use to display it. I know this because we tried to use our site logo SVG as a forum image and there was no way to control the scaling.

In reality this applies to all images you might choose for a forum image but it often easier to resize other image formats.

In an ideal world phpBB would either scale images to match the topic icon sizes or would allow the display size is be specified along with the image path.

works on my side with .png, .jpg and .gif just using images/filename.ext
Also works using a different directory in the root (even 3 levels deep) e.g. images/avatars/gallery

Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

I have saved the image in the folder which is the forum logo. forum/styles/prosilver/theme/images.
Inside is the image c.png, but the path images/c.png dont work.

I need to create a new folder for these images?

Not absolutely necessary.
The image location entered in the field should be relative to the forum root_path.
So styles/prosilver/theme/images/c.png should work.

Look at the screenshot posted in the first post, this is a forum image. So these images have no relation to a style

Seems like you didn't understand my post.
It doesn't matter where the image is put, as long as the location of that image (relative to the root_path) is correct.
If he leaves his c.png where he put it originally then the location I posted will work.
If he changes the location, all he needs to do is edit the field. (test this with another image in the location I mentioned: e.g. icon_e_surprised.gif).
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Of course it works for you, because you put the image in that location.

That what I said here: viewtopic.php?p=15654491#p15654491

Placing these images in the directory of a style makes no sense

I noticed something else with the photo I uploaded. the photo here it looks fine!
In my forum the photos i attach, they look very large and i can not click on them and make them look bigger like here.
What should I do to look like the one I attached here?
