updating/importing from 3.0.12

Post by schwim »

Hello there!

I'm having problems finding instructions on how to update a 3.0.12 install to the latest. It seems all the instructions I find are how to update from 3.2 or later.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

Thank you for your help!

I'm trying to follow the directions but at step 5:
Remove all MOD-related changes from the database. The Support Toolkit's Database Cleaner can be used for this.
loading the database cleaner in STK just results in a blank page. All other pages in the STK control panel load properly.

Is there a way for me to manually do this if I'm unable to perform the process automatedly through the STK panel?

What php version are you using?
And are you 100% sure you uploaded all the files from STK without errors?

Hello and thanks for your help!

PHP Version 7.4.20

I'm confident I've uploaded properly, tried both through SSH and FTP. As stated, every other page in the admin panel loads correctly, just that page that I need results in a blank page load.

[EDIT]
I just added some error reporting to the index file and got this:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'new' (T_NEW) in /home/air/public_html/forum/includes/captcha/plugins/phpbb_captcha_qa_plugin.php on line 104
which I don't understand. I'm looking through google's results now but have found nothing useful.

[EDIT #2]
When I try to visit the captcha setting page in the forum install, that's broken as well.

Hi there guys and thanks very much for the help. I ended up just removing the tables not found in a default install and followed the rest of the directions. It looks like I've got a working install of the latest download now with imported data.

I appreciate all the help, take care!

I spoke too soon. It looks like I've got some leftover code causing issues. I tried to navigate to extensions in the ACP and got this:
Cannot find module ./../includes/acp/acp_asacp.php

BACKTRACE

FILE: (not given by php)
LINE: (not given by php)
CALL: msg_handler()

FILE: [ROOT]/includes/functions_module.php
LINE: 573
CALL: trigger_error()

FILE: [ROOT]/adm/index.php
LINE: 81
CALL: p_master->load_active()
Is there perhaps something else I need to look into for the issue? I followed the update instruction to the letter after the database clean process including removing all but the three directories and config.php then moving the files over from the new install excluding those and running the update.

I don't see anything in ACP for modules, do you mean extensions? If so, looking in extensions, I only have vigilink and the recent posts extension I just added.

Administration Control Panel
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Hi there and thanks!

So I should remove the admin control panel here? I won't lose the ACP when I do that?
