What to do with ended conversations?

Post by smokinjo »

I will have some topics that will have run their course.

Is there a way to archive them? Basically, I want to keep them. But, get them out of the way.

I create a new forum: old topics? Then, move all dead topics over to it?

Thanks

and, if you do not want any posts to any of those old topics you can change the permissions on that forum to read only for the registered user group.

Hello,

I found my old question, and I need an additional answer:)

How does one actually move a discussion form one form to another and lock it?

Thanks

Assuming that a "discussion" is a complete topic (and not part of a topic which would need splitting off):

Moderator tools (the hammer at the bottom of the viewtopic.php) or using the MCP directly.
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.
