No email from board

Post by panhead »

Since one day no more emails are sent from my board (notifications, confirmation of registration etc.). The email address in email settings was [email protected]. According to my provider the sender is [email protected], which is the email address of my provider's account and should not be used.
So I am confused, why aren't emails sent anymore and why is the sender different from the one I entered?

Quick question, what is your phpBB version? 3.3.5/3.3.7 isn’t handling emails correctly.

Presumably it was working previously so something must have changed to cause this issue? Any idea as to what changed?

Please post screen grabs of your email settings.

These?

I don't use the SMTP server.
And I agree that something must have changed, but not by me (AFAIK).

Yes, but the full settings without the SMTP part.

I suggest your host has changed something in that case, you should ask them.

I did, but they can't help me because I installed phpBB3 myself and said I should look for professional help (I hope for my email problem and not for me). Very helpful.

If that's the case... set up a hostinstall. If it works, compare the settings and use those findings to edit the settings on your board and if that works, just delete the autoinstall.
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Try setting email package size to zero.
