IMPORTANT: Above description is outdated.

The following correctly describes this modification's behaviour:

Introduces a city-based time zone system and thus allows for automatic Daylight Savings Time (DST) to be managed for each user separately. It also automatically detects DST periods and adjusts corresponding dates' ouputs accordingly.

@MartectX: Congrats for getting your MOD validated! :)

What exactly does that mean? Let´s say I have a board for Austrian and German visitors but the server is located in Michigan, US.

Have a nice weekend!

Than it uses the time in Michigan because the date() function uses the data from the webserver. So when DST gets enabled there, the times are updated.

Thanks for the explanation, Erik!

Unfortunately I can't use the MOD in this case because the USA have a different DST than we in middle Europe. It's good that we pointed that out!

Until there is another solution to the DST problem, I can suggest this MOD: ACP Overwrite Module
But when the server is located near the users of your board, MartectX's MOD is certainly even more comfortable.

Regards
Wolfgang

Thank you for clarification

I'm hosted on a server in Germany and it works without a hitch (German users only, mind you). At least it's an improvement for fellow board administrators with similar configurations. :geek:

Excellent, I think it works well!
How do we run that query at the end of the install.xml?

phpBB3 only supports manual selection of DST, not automatic functions that do that for the user.
