Re: Log connections

Well, that's the point. If the board software can report that a guest at IP address xx.xx.xx.xx is online via the viewonline.php, then we ought to be able to log the connection.

I have several regular guests who read the public forums on my board, and I'd like to know as well if some of my registered users visit without logging in.

I'm not the mod author, or am not affiliated in any way, but i believe the purpose of this mod is to login succesful/failed logins. The title is a bit poor translated from french. Connection in french means to login.

Either way, it should be possible. If I were a better programmer I wouldn't need to ask, would I? ;)

hamlat, did you do the SQL statements on your database?

From the mod, these are:

Code: Select all

CREATE TABLE phpbb_log_lc_exclude_ip (
  exclude_id mediumint(8) NOT NULL auto_increment,
  exclude_ip varchar(40) NOT NULL default '',
  PRIMARY KEY (exclude_id));

ALTER TABLE phpbb_log ADD log_number MEDIUMINT( 8 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1';
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_disable', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_acp_disable', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_founder_disable', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_admin_disable', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_prune_entries', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_prune_day', '7', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_interval', '60', 0);

Yeah i did, but just in case i've did it again, and this time i got an error message, i think it's totally normal as i already have done it before
SQL query:

CREATE TABLE phpbb_log_lc_exclude_ip(
exclude_id mediumint( 8 ) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT ,
exclude_ip varchar( 40 ) NOT NULL default '',
PRIMARY KEY ( exclude_id )
);

MySQL said: Documentation
#1050 - Table 'phpbb_log_lc_exclude_ip' already exists

Elglobo,

This mod is working great for me in 3.0.4. I get the right colors and all and the only change I made is the one in the find that bangpride mentioned here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 0#p7976725

The auto updater did strip out the code in functions_admin.php as was mentioned early, so I had to re-edit that file.

The .css works fine.

The only minor issue I have is the undefined index mentioned by andy2295 http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 0#p7900555.

All in all, no big deal and works great.

Cheers,

cprgolds

Hi cprgolds
Can you do test?
Can you "Disable logging of connections from administrators" from "Connection Log Settings"?
In my board USERS CONNECTIONS LOGS it is sent to "Admin log" and not to "Connection log".
Can you help me?

Hello Francisco.phpBB,

I did the test as you requested and am seeing the same problem as you reported.

I did not have Admins disabled in my production system, so have not seen this before.

I experienced this problem too - before 3.0.4 as well.

This is what I did - And works for me.
Don't know if it was the correct way to solve it though. Maybe Elglobo can confirm that at a later time.

in includes/functions.php
(in the last edit for this MOD)
Find:

Code: Select all

                        return false;
                    }
                }
                //Check for founder user
Replace with:

Code: Select all

                        return false;
                    }
                }
                else
                {
                    $sql_ary['log_type'] = LOG_CONNECTIONS;
                }
                //Check for founder user

Hi, I installed this MOD and tried to set new settings and save changes and this happened:

Code: Select all

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Duplicate entry 'lc_disable' for key 1 [1062]

SQL

INSERT INTO phpbb_config (config_name, config_value, is_dynamic) VALUES ('lc_disable', 0, 0)

BACKTRACE

FILE: includes/db/mysql.php
LINE: 174
CALL: dbal->sql_error()

FILE: includes/functions.php
LINE: 156
CALL: dbal_mysql->sql_query()

FILE: includes/acp/acp_lc.php
LINE: 271
CALL: set_config()

FILE: includes/functions_module.php
LINE: 507
CALL: acp_lc->main()

FILE: adm/index.php
LINE: 76
CALL: p_master->load_active()
Do you know the reason? I performed required SQL commands. BTW I separated them into two commands:
1st

Code: Select all

CREATE TABLE phpbb_log_lc_exclude_ip (
  exclude_id mediumint(8) NOT NULL auto_increment,
  exclude_ip varchar(40) NOT NULL default '',
  PRIMARY KEY (exclude_id));
2nd

Code: Select all

ALTER TABLE phpbb_log ADD log_number MEDIUMINT( 8 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1';
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_disable', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_acp_disable', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_founder_disable', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_admin_disable', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_prune_entries', '0', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_prune_day', '7', 0);
INSERT INTO phpbb_config VALUES ('lc_interval', '60', 0);
but in my opinion it should be ok
